This photo will gives you the chills.

12-year-old Kendric Cromer rolling out of the hospital in his wheelchair, wearing his favorite Naruto anime gear. But this isn't a sick kid leaving another hospital stay.
This is history.
Kendric just became the first sickle cell patient in America to complete gene therapy treatment since FDA approval. After 44 days in the hospital, chemotherapy to clear his bone marrow, and stem cell infusion - he's stepping into a life potentially free from sickle cell disease.
For years, gene therapy felt too good to be true. Too many promised cures have fallen short. But Kendric and his family took the leap, showing incredible courage to be first.
The process wasn't easy - severe pain, multiple side effects, weeks away from home. But now he has something no child with sickle cell has ever had before: a real shot at a normal life.
This is just the beginning. Gene therapy is complex and expensive, and access remains limited. But Kendric proved it works. He's given hope to thousands of families fighting this battle.
One 12-year-old changed everything.
